As a follow-up to the previous post, the percentage of the total amount of money spent by tourists visiting Italy versus the percentage of the total amount of money spent by tourists worldwide is presented. The numbers are similar enough to justify that the international tourism in Italy spending mimics the international tourism numbers in general. With the exception of China, the top five countries are the same. Switzerland, which borders Italy on the north, logically is in Italy’s top five list.

  • Visitors To Italy (2010)

    • Germany 16.4%
    • United States 10.7%
    • France 8.8%
    • United Kingdom 7.4%
    • Switzerland 5.2%
  • Foreign Tourists Worldwide (2010)

    • Germany 18,09%
    • United States 17,57%
    • China 12,78%
    • United Kingdom 11,31%
    • France 9,17%
